Context
Finding someone you trust with your pet
Pet owners rely on informal networks — friends, neighbours, local groups — and fall back on expensive boarding when nobody is available. Sitters, meanwhile, have no simple way to show they are reliable.
The project explored a marketplace where both sides can find each other quickly, and where trust is designed in rather than assumed.
Process
Research to prototype
- 01Interviews and surveys with pet owners and sitters to map needs and anxieties.
- 02Personas and journey maps for both sides of the marketplace.
- 03Information architecture for search, matching, booking and messaging.
- 04Wireframes, visual identity and a clickable prototype in Adobe XD.
Solution
Key design decisions
- 01Search and filtering by pet type, location, dates and sitter experience.
- 02Sitter profiles built around proof: reviews, verification, photos and past stays.
- 03A booking flow with explicit dates, care instructions and confirmation states.
- 04In-app messaging so the handover can be arranged without leaving the app.

Reflection
What I took from it
In a two-sided marketplace, trust is the product. Every screen either builds it or spends it.
Designing both sides in parallel exposed mismatched expectations early — especially around availability and pricing.
